The Chinese art occupies an important place in the history of world culture. The Chinese culture was constantly developing in the course of many centuries despite the wars, riots, nomads' conquests. That is why the artistic life of China was always distinguished for its stable traditions. All the spheres of Chinese decorative art are uniquely distinct, embodying the basic concept of the Chinese civilization - the concept of organic unity of a human being and that of the world of nature. The most important peculiarity of the Chinese figurative tradition is the inseparable unity of painting and graphics manifesting itself in the line prevailing over other components of the image; the methods and mastership of applying a paintbrush have always been in the centre of attention of the painters. As for the Chinese music, according to music connoisseurs, its main advantage consists in the sound's "regularity, or rythmicity" as well as its harmonious character. The Chinese theatre has little in common with the Greek concept of "spectacular", its essence consists in the pure joy of playacting - si (blessing, felicity).
