Traditional mode of life

In traditional everyday culture of the peoples of the Near and the Middle East, especially in urban conditions, traditional local characteristic features mix up with the western trends. Modern multi-storey buildings of concrete and glass are neighborly located near the ancient palaces; in the crowd of passersby one can encounter people dressed in national garments and in European clothes; in the streets the loaded camels and donkeys step aside to let modern autos of the latest brands run by. In the most developed countries of the region the tendency becomes more and more obvious to unite modern and traditional national forms. Gradually the new features of the material mode of life penetrate the rural areas.
