Commentation:
Compass scale is on paper bobbin with picture of Neptune - grade (0-90-0-90-(0)) with devisions in 1/2° and numbering in 10°. Cross made of white threads is under glass. On the surface of horizontal ring around compass box is horizontal square (±45° off heading line) with transversal scale to read the thenths of grade; aiming rule is missing. Inscription "Edm. Culpeper fecit " is on the ring.
