Аннотация:

The personal and scholarly destinies of Christian Martin Joachim Frähn (1782–1851), world famous specialist in Arabic studies and Islamic numismatics, and Friedrich Wilhelm Radloff (1837–1918), one of the world greatest turcologists, are closely connected with Saint-Petersburg Kunstkamera. The collection of essays published here is based on German archival materials. They are the result of fruitful German-Russian scholarly cooperation and were published in 2004–2014 mostly in “Manuscripta Orientalia. International Journal for Oriental Manuscript Research”. The collection is devoted to 300 anniversary of the first Russian state museum.
