Director of the MAE RAS Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Golovnev joined the Expert Council for the Development of History Education, established under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The first meeting of the council was held on March 16.
“The importance of history as a science and academic discipline has always been that it forms the attitude of society to its past, ensures the continuity of generations, forms the consciousness of an individual and the moral values,” said Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, at the first meeting of the Expert Council.
Chairman of the association "Russian Historical Society" Sergey Naryshkin also took the word at the first meeting of the council.
“The humanitarian and educational agenda is of great importance these days, so I welcome your decision, Valery Nikolayevich, to form an expert council for the development of history education under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. I think it is right, first of all, to focus on ensuring that history students, regardless of which university they study at, would receive relevant, modern and in-demand professional knowledge.”
