Polonika in the Kunstkamera
On January 17, 2022, a cooperation agreement was signed in Warsaw between Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Centre for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding. The document was signed by Director of the MAE (Kunstkamera) RAS Andrei Golovnev and Director of the Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding Ernest Vytsishkevich.
The agreement involves the implementation of a major scientific and educational project between Russia and Poland that will be devoted to the study and publication of the heritage of Polish researchers in the field of ethnography and anthropology (including Bronisław Piłsudski, Wacław Sieroszewski, Edward Piekarski and others). As part of the project, a series of catalogues of the MAE RAS collections assembled by Polish researchers will be prepared and published.
For the record, in 2019 a similar format of cooperation between the MAE RAS and the Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding was implemented during the publication of the catalogue “The World of the Ainu through the Eyes of Bronisław Piłsudski: Kunstkamera collections”.
