Delegation from Thailand led by the Prosecutor General of the Kingdom of Thailand, Ms. Nari Tantasantien

On Friday, June 16, 2023, the museum was visited by a delegation from Thailand led by the Prosecutor General of the Kingdom of Thailand, Ms. Nari Tantasantien. Members of the delegation with great interest studied the gifts of King Rama V of Siam to Tsarevich Nikolai Alexandrovich, presented to the heir to the Russian throne during his visit to Siam (Thailand) in 1891. The guests were met and given a tour of the exhibition by the head of the Department of Reception and Excursion Services for Visitors, Ekaterina Sherstennikova.

Siamese royal gifts are exhibited at the new permanent exhibition of the MAE (Kunstkamera) RAS, “Imperial Hall: Multinational Russia,” which was inaugurated in November last year. A significant part of the new exhibition is dedicated to the “imperial gifts” - gifts to Russian emperors, which at different times were transferred to the Kunstkamera. The tradition of “imperial gifts” to the Kunstkamera continues in the 21st century - in one showcase of the hall there are luxurious swords presented to Tsarevich Nicholas and musical instruments presented to the museum by Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol of Thailand in June 2011.
