Visit of the delegation from the Kingdom of Thailand to the MAE (Kunstkamera) RAS

On May 25, the Kunstkamera was visited by First Vice President of the Thai Senate General Singsuk Singpai and Deputy Chair of the Natural Resources and Environment Commission of the Senate of the Kingdom of Thailand Weerasak Kowsurath, as well as representatives of the Embassy of Thailand.

A tour of the museum for the guests was conducted by Senior Researcher of the Department of East and Southeast Asia of the MAE RAS Dr. Alexander Sinitsyn. The members of the delegation were especially eager to see the gifts of the King of Siam Rama V to Tsarevich Nicholai, presented to the heir to the Russian throne during his visit to Siam (Thailand) in 1891. Siamese royal gifts are exhibited for the first time in the new permanent exhibition of the MAE RAS "Imperial Hall: Multinational Russia", which was solemnly opened in November last year.

The guests with interest got acquainted with the exhibition of the hall of East and South-East Asia, as well as the hall "M.V. Lomonosov and the Academy of Sciences of the 18th century". The Great Gottorp Globe made a significant impression on them.
