On August 27, the first official visit of Ran Hidor, Consul General of the State of Israel in St. Petersburg, took place at the Pyotr the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (MAE RAS).

During the visit, Mr. Hidor noted that he had previously visited the Kunstkamera's exhibition halls only once before and expressed his interest in exploring the museum's new exhibition projects.

The key part of the program was a working meeting between the Consul General and Vladimir Davydov, Deputy Director for Scientific Work at the MAE RAS. The following issues were discussed during the negotiations:

• Prospects for studying the ethnographic collections of the Museum related to the history and culture of the Middle Eastern peoples;
• Organization of joint scientific seminars and cultural-educational events dedicated to the traditions of the State of Israel;
• Opportunities for further expanding bilateral cooperation in research and cultural spheres.

Following the official part of the meeting, a thematic tour of the Museum's expositions was arranged for Mr. Hidor. Senior Research Fellow Elena Soboleva acted as the scientific guide.
